A loan of $1,150 helped to buy organic fertilizer.

Pelaya's story

Pelaya is 62 years old and is happily married. She lives with three of her six children in the house she inherited 37 years ago. She is very happy for having worked so hard all her life in agriculture, because her years of experience working the land have brought her a lot of satisfaction. The reason is that for 32 years, she and her husband have known how to get ahead by cultivating the land. This important source of income has allowed them to economically support their six children, who are for the most part all good children.

At the moment Pelaya works full-time growing wheat, but also corn, potatoes and alfalfa. She herself takes charge of selling these crops to obtain the profits she needs. Her greatest desire is to see her two youngest children finish their university careers, which is the reason she continues to work with so much effort and determination.

This is Pelaya’s fourth loan with Kiva, and she is very grateful for the loan, as she needs it to achieve her objectives. She promises to be punctual with her loan payments. She will use the 3000 PEN to buy organic fertilizer for the next sowing of her crops.
