Mariama's story

Greetings from Sierra Leone! This is 39-year-old Mariama from Torkpoi town. She is married with four children between the ages of five and 20 years old. Three of her children are attending school. She began her business to engage herself in doing something. Mariama runs a food stand business; she sells onions, rice, tomatoes paste and pepper. She has been running this business for 15 years. She works at the business for 10 hours, 7 days per week. She says that the main challenge to her business is the slow purchasing power of the customer. Mariama has requested a loan in order to buy food commodities like onions, rice, tomatoes paste and pepper.
