A loan of $475 helped to purchase rice, pepper, fish, vita, dry bushmeat, onions, and coal for her restaurant.

Lilly's story

Lilly is 42 years old and lives in the West Point area, which has the most populated market in Montserrado County. She is married, and her husband is a businessman. They have two children ages 9 and 23. Only one is in school and lives at home.

She describes herself as a hardworking person. For the past 8 years she has been running a restaurant where she sells rice and soup in the local market. She likes her business because customers buy from her, and she started this business with money given to her by husband. She walks every day to buy her ingredients since her shop is much closer to the local market. She is requesting a loan to purchase more rice, pepper, fish, vita, dry bushmeat, onions, and coal for her restaurant. She plans to buy a plot of land and build a house. She would like to say thank you to the lenders who support BRAC Liberia.
