Jala's story

Jala is 20 years old. She is a mother of one daughter. Jala is an IDP (internally displaced person) from Jabrayil and lives with her husband and daughter in the Bilasuvar IDP Settlement. Jala is a very hardworking woman. For the past year, she has been raising chickens and is very active in poultry. She usually buys small chickens, raises and fattens them for 5-6 months and then sells them for a more profitable price in the livestock bazaar. Her husband also helps her in this business because it is the only income for their family. From this business Jala's monthly income is 120 AZN.

In Azerbaijan chicken is in very high demand because people use it in everyday dishes like levengi, chicken soup, tabaca, kabab, etc. Jala sells chicken eggs too. People eat chicken eggs every day for breakfast. In one day, she sells approximately 50 eggs.

Jala has already taken three loans from Aqroinvest in the past. With a good loan history, she has applied for her fourth loan of 1,800 AZN. With this money, she wants to invest in the business and buy more small chickens in order to generate more revenue.
