A loan of $375 helped to pay for fabric, cloth, thread and other materials needed for her business.

Leonisa's story

This is Leonisa, 58 years-old and a resident of Malibay, Pasay City, Philippines. She is married to Romeo and a mother to their children. She, together with her husband, manages their household while operating the business. At this time, she is working hard to continually provide income for their everyday expenses.

Leonisa operates a tailoring business. She mainly offers curtains, bed sheets, blankets and other home trappings. Seasonal demands for clothing such as uniforms and such are available all year round. She also does repairs and alterations. Her regular customers are her neighbors and the local community. She earns a minimum of Php500 in sales every day.

To help her continue the operations of her business, she is requesting a Php15, 000 loan. She will be utilizing the loan to buy more quantities of raw materials such as fabric, thread and other items needed for her business.

Leonisa hopes that her business will grow larger and that she will have more customers. She dreams to have a good life. She meets up with her co-fellowship* members to share stories of her life and business every week and where she can also draw strength and inspiration from the fellowship and from the Word of God she studies.

* All CCT community partners / clients are organized into fellowship groups that meet on a weekly basis. A fellowship group is composed of 15 to 30 community partners. The fellowship groups gather each week to study the Word of God, build social capital, and pay Micro Finance loans.
