A loan of $1,150 helped to buy construction materials.

Katherine Cristabel's story

Katherine is a 25 years old. She lives in the city of Ica with her parents and her young son whom she loves an who is her main reason for living. She is a kind, hardworking and enthusiastic person who puts all of her effort into getting her little one ahead. Thanks to her hard work and her parents' help, Katherine was able to study nursing. In her free time she likes to dance and sometimes cook a delicious Lomo Saltado to share with her children.

On her own initiative, and with much hard work and dedication, Katherine works in her small business selling clothes for women, men and children. In addition, from previous jobs she was able to buy a motorcycle taxi. She rents it out to drivers so they can provide a transportation service. She works every day for approximately 10 hours and she thinks it is going well for her because of the good prices and the friendly way she treats others.

Katherine is very grateful to the Kiva lenders, since thanks to their help she will be able to buy construction materials such as sand, cement, bricks and more. These will be used to build a room in her house. This way, Katherine and her little one will have a nice, safe place to live. She will keep working and striving to achieve her big dream of practicing as a nurse in a hospital in her city.
