A loan of $1,700 helped a member to buy sewing materials, such as fabrics and thread.

Emprendedoras En Accion Group's story

“Emprendedoras en Acción” (Entrepreneurs in Action) is a Communal Bank that consists of six friends. Ana María is the group president. She is 51 years old, married, and has two children and two grandchildren. Ana María lives at her mother-in-law’s house with her entire family. She is a seamstress and learned this trade from her cousins six years ago. Now she produces clothing from her home and is proud of her work because she can support herself and help her husband. Her customers are friends and neighbors from her town who are always requesting her services.

The loan she is requesting will be used to buy sewing materials, such as fabrics and thread. She is very excited about this loan and is grateful that people who do not know her are willing to help her and the other members of her Communal Bank.
