A loan of $1,000 helped to buy merchandise to stock her store.

Vitalia's story

Vitalia, 40, is married and has three childen ages 12, 13 and 15 who all attend school. She sells essential groceries at the neighborhood store she runs in the Cotoca area. This is her first loan through the institution and she will use it to buy merchandise to stock her store such as groceries, sweets and soft drinks. The reason for the loan is that there is much demand and she will be able to increase sales, but only if she has more stock.

Vitalia has a lot of competition because there are several stores in the area. She will use any profits she makes to buy more goods for the store so she can continue to grow on a daily basis. Her goal is to have a well-stocked store so she can increase business, thereby improving her income and the quality of life for her family.
