Faustina's story

Faustina is 38. She is a single mother of three daughters. She lives in a wooden house with her small family. She sells edible products such as rice, milk, pasta, and vegetables from her stall located in the local market. Previously, she worked in the fields harvesting organic cocoa. However, she felt that she was not able to spend enough time with her daughters, so she decided to take over a stall that her cousin gave her.
She started off with just a few products because she did not have enough working capital. With time and hard work she was able to expand her business until it became her family's main economic support. Every day, she receives her customers. They are mainly housewives. Her good treatment and humour have allowed her to make good sales and a very good income. Her two youngest daughters always help her when the business is busy.
Faustina's main goal is to expand her business in order to increase her sales and add products that she does not yet sell such as fresh beef and chicken. Now, she would like to have 3,000 soles for the purchase of fresh fish, which is requested at another store, and to buy fruits and vegetables.
