A loan of $1,450 helped to buy supplies for making chicken chicharrón.

Emma's story

Emma is 36 and has two children ages 10 and 4. She sells chicken chicharrón [a fried chicken dish] and has a stall in one of the busy streets of Villa Fátima. This loan is her second loan cycle with the institution. Emma will use this loan for the wholesale purchase of supplies such as oil, potato, corn, and chicken for making her dishes. She is requesting this loan because she does not have the cash to make this purchase. Emma experiences challenges in her business - climate and competition from other food businesses. For this reason, she has to try to reduce her costs and improve her dishes' flavour. She will use the profit from this loan to buy utensils and to expand so that she can gain more clientele in the peak hours of lunch and dinner. Emma is a very hard-working person and is happy to have this opportunity.
