A loan of $600 helped to buy a dairy cow.

Alex Fernando's story

Alex is 18 years old, single with no children and lives with his mother in the city of Guaranda, province of Bolívar. He is a member of the communal bank "Los Pinos" which is comprised of 14 members of the same agricultural community about 40 minutes away from the Pangua Community offices.

Alex sells cheese and raises cattle and pigs for a living. He is requesting a loan to buy a dairy cow so he can obtain milk to make cheese. He carries out his purchases in the city of Guaranda and sells cheese on an order basis in Guaranda, San Miguel and Chimbo.

One day he would like to buy a transport truck, but the most difficult challenge he faces is the lack of money. In his free time he enjoys sports, especially soccer.
