A loan of $575 helped purchase consumable goods like rice, sugar, flour, and oil, among others.

Sonia's story

Sonia, thirty-five years old, lives in her own home along with her husband and two children, who are her drive to get ahead. Sonia sells consumable goods like rice, sugar, flour, oil, and eggs, among others. She runs this business out of a small space within her home. She has seven years of experience with this business, which she started out of the need to find stable employment and to help her husband with the daily expenses. She says that her business is profitable because she sells necessities and she can rely on good customers every day.

She hopes to continue growing so that she can build a larger space with everything she needs to provide good attention and reception to her customers. This is her sixth loan with Kiva and she is grateful for the financial support given. With this loan request of 1500 soles, she will buy consumable goods such as rice, sugar, flour, oil, and eggs, among other items.
