A loan of $650 helped to buy men's, women's, and children's footwear.

Gloria's story

Gloria, 29, began selling shoes three years ago on a recommendation and after determining that the business would be profitable. Her business has slowly grown, and she has a space in her house where she sells merchandise for cash, mostly to neighbors and referrals. Her goal is to expand now and to open in another commercial space later on so that she can earn more and offer her daughters better living conditions and a good education.

Gloria needs more inventory of men's, women's, and children's footwear, so she has applied to Kiva for her first loan through Fundación Mario Santo Domingo. She will use the money to buy new shoes to meet potential customer demand and turn her Kiva loan into a successful investment.
