A loan of $1,150 helped buy construction supplies such as sand, metal, and bricks.

Virna's story

31-year old Virna is a hardworking, responsible woman who lives in a rented house with her husband and son. She has a small business renting out equipment and selling construction materials. She began the business with her husband but now she is in charge while he works on site, supervising the use of the machinery and the products needed for construction.

Currently Virna sells merchandise as she is seeking to earn extra income to improve their quality of life. At the beginning they didn’t have enough capital nor the tools necessary to open their business but after a lot of hard work, she managed to obtain the money she needed to get it going, and now with the income she hopes to continue growing the business by expanding and improving the premises.

This is Virma’s first loan with Kiva and she is grateful for the financial assistance. She promises to make the repayments punctually. With the S/. 3,000 soles she is seeking, she will buy construction supplies such as sand, metal, and bricks for a building she will erect on the highway.
