Siannah's story

Siannah is 20 years old and lives at Paynesville North, which has the largest local market in Montsorrade. She and her fiance live together, and her fiance is not working. They have a five-year-old child who is in school and lives at home. She described herself as a hardworking lady. Since 2008, she has been running a table market where she sells pepper, palm oil, bitter ball, etc. in the local market. She likes her business because of the way her customers respond to it. She started this business with money given to her by her oldest sister. She walks every time to buy her inventory since her market table is much closer to the local market. She sells from 6:00 AM to 7:00 PM six day a week. She is requesting a loan to purchase more pepper, palm oil, bitter ball, etc. for her business. She plans to buy a piece of land and build a shop. She wants to say thanks to the lenders who support BRAC Liberia to enable small business people to increase their business volume.
