Fishery Women Group's story

Salamatu is the featured leader of this group of entrepreneurs. She was born in Makeni city, 43 years ago. She is married to a businessman and the couple has four children, one in secondary and three in college. She has been in business for many years now. She has been selling fresh fish. Together, the group members are asking for a loan of SLL 2,500,000 from SMT/Kiva lenders. With the help of this loan, they will be able to expand their respective businesses, make more sales and consequently improve their living conditions. Salamatu will use her share of the loan (SLL 500,000) to expand her business. She will buy cartons of fresh fish to add to her current inventory.
