A loan of $200 helped to buy iron, wire, and other products for making gates and windows.

Alejandro's story

Don Alejandro, age 58, lives in the city of Estelí. He is married with adult children. He owns a small welding workshop, which he opened with great sacrifice. It has helped him to achieve his goals of building a home, and has allowed him to teach his children to work. He does not want his children to work for anyone, but rather to own their own businesses.
Alejandro only has an elementary school education, but this has not stopped him from getting ahead. He wants to take out this loan for the purchase of iron, wire, and other products for making gates and windows. He thinks that this loan will help him greatly because it is an opportunity that he does not want to lose. It will help his business because he will have basic supplies for filling his orders.
His next goal is to make the gates so that he will have them to sell. His plan for the future is to have machines so that he can offer a faster and more efficient service. The majority of his clients are from Estelí; in the future he would like to reach other areas.
