A loan of $475 helped to buy fertilizers, manure, and fumigation bombs for her coffee crops.

Mayra's story

Mayra is a 37-year-old woman in a common-law marriage. She is the mother of four children, the oldest of whom is in high school, with the next one in middle school, and the youngest ones in primary school. She and her partner grow coffee for a living on land they are thankful to God to own after having inherited it from her in-laws. It is located 12.5km from their home and they visit it daily as a family with their children to care for their crops. She has a sixth-grade education, but she was not able to keep studying because of a lack of financial support. Her produce is bought and sold at the local market with neighbors, friends, and buyers from the area where she lives. She is currently asking for help to buy fertilizers, manure, and fumigation bombs for her coffee crops, as these will give her a better harvest and a higher quality of product to sell. Her goal is to have high-quality production, which will result in many benefits for her family and allow her to use her profits to reinvest in her property. This will allow her to achieve her dream of seeing her children graduate from university with profitable careers and capable of starting a family business.
