A loan of $600 helped to buy bolts of silk and poplin.

Assana's story

Assana, age 52, is a widow and the mother of three children, aged 30, 27 and 24. She's been working as a reseller since 1983. She sells fabrics to a diverse clientele in one of Lomé's markets.

She gets her supplies in Lomé and has one person to help her. At this time, her main difficulty is being unable to meet customer demand.

Assana is seeking her second loan from Kiva's partner, WAGES, in order to buy bolts of silk and poplin. She wants to reinvest in her business.

In the forthcoming years, she would like to expand her business by becoming a wholesaler.
