A loan of $775 helped to buy organic manure.

Daysi's story

Daysi, 28, lives with her two children in her own house near her town’s highway in the Peruvian mountains. Her heavy work starts at three in the morning because she grows peas, potatoes, corn and gladiola flowers; she also bakes bread that she starts selling in town at six in the morning.

With much laughter she comments that the bakery produces daily income while the agriculture is seasonal but they are able to buy basic need items and even save up for their children’s well-being because she wants to buy more land and plant larger amounts. She also wants to buy another ass to transport her tools and farm supplies problem-free.

This is her fourth Kiva loan and she feels very happy with the financial support she’s gotten and commits to make her payments punctually. Daysi will use the 2,000 soles to buy organic manure to nourish her crops because harvest season is starting.
