A loan of $825 helped to buy video games that will upgrade his services, and a television.

Wilson Rafael's story

Wilson is twenty-five years old and lives in a popular neighborhood in the municipality of Barranquilla. This is where he has offered his recreational services, like video games, for five years. He learned this from his aunt, who had the same type of business; he would always spend time in her shop playing. Through observation, he analyzed the commercial movement of this business and its profitability and, with the help of his parents, he started his own business.

His business has grown gradually through loans. His main clients are children and young people, those that come every day from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. His principal game suppliers are the shopping centers that specialize in technology.

Currently, he is applying for a loan through Kiva. It is his first financing with Fundación Mario Santo Domingo. He will buy video games, which will upgrade his services, and a television. With these, he plans to attract his clients, preparing for the vacation period that occurs at the half-way point during the school year. His investment will be successful because he will use it to buy the most modern games on the market, which are the games that his young clients like the most.

His goal is to continue growing as a businessman and to be able to take specialized classes. His greatest challenge is to have sufficient resources to realize these goals immediately.
