A loan of $2,300 helped to buy seeds and fertilizers to grow more fruits and vegetables.

Husniyya's story

Husniyya is 26 years old and a mother of 2 children. She is an IDP (internally displaced person) and lives with her husband and daughters in the Bilasuvar IDP Settlement. She has been raising seasonal fruits and vegetables for the last 5 years. She chose this business because it is profitable and because there is always a high demand for fresh crops. People use fresh vegetables every day and include them in many national dishes, such as pilau and dolma. Fresh fruits are served at every family’s table in Azerbaijan and are often made into fresh punch.

Husniyya sells her crops at the Bilasuvar central bazaar. Her monthly income is 150 AZN. Her husband actively helps her to raise her crops.

As her products are in high demand, Husniyya wants to expand her business and produce more fruits and vegetables to cover the market demand. For this purpose, she has applied for a loan in the amount of 1800 AZN. She will buy seeds and fertilizers with her loan funds. This will be her third loan and she has a positive loan history.
