A loan of $2,050 helped to purchase 12 sheep in order to sell more meat in summer.

Asaf's story

Asaf is 42 years old with 2 sons. He is an IDP (internally displaced person) and lives with his wife and sons in the Bilasuvar IDP Settlement. From past 18 years he has been raising sheep because mutton is in high demand in this region. Asaf is a retired person with an income of 330 AZN monthly from this business. This is a very profitable business and Asaf is doing it together with his wife. Asaf is keeping a flock of sheep in his own yard. He fattens them and takes their meat to the central bazaar, where butchers and customers purchase from him. People use mutton for traditional dishes like kababs, dolmas, pilovs, etc. He has taken loan from Aqroinvest before and has a good loan history. This is going to be his 2nd loan. This time he requires 1600 AZN in order to purchase 12 sheep in order to sell more meat in summer. He is optimistic about this loan, because in summer more people consume meat, due to the holidays and increased customers in restaurants.
