Apple Group's story

Jane, who is in her early 50s, is married with five children who are grown-ups. She has been running a catering business since 2002. She works from 8 a.m. to midnight daily and is able to make a good monthly profit.

This will be Jane's 16th loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. She used the previous loans to start a decoration business. So, for the previous years, she has been increasing the stock of materials. She keeps on buying materials according to the color of the year. She bought more food for the catering business and has paid back all her loans successfully. She used the profit to build her house, pay school fees and cover household expenses. She will use this loan to buy up-to-date materials and new server dishes. Her dream is to one day be able to build another house.

Jane will share this loan with her loan group, "Apple," which has 11 members who will hold each other accountable for paying back the loan.
