A loan of $650 helped to buy rice, meat, fish and other supplies.

Ana Hercilia's story

The "San Esteban" communal bank meets every two weeks in the city of Charapoto. The area is known for its traditional culture and because it is only a few minutes away from the province's best beaches, San Jacinto and San Clemente.

Ana, 53 years old, lives here in the city of Charapoto. She is married and has two children with her husband. Both are now independent adults. Ana's husband works with Ana.

Ana and her husband have a small dining room in their house where they prepare delicious meals. The work from Monday to Saturday, from 6am until 3pm, as they only offer lunch. They have had the business for three years and the business is going well as customers likes the flavours and because Ana varies the menu every day in order to give her customers something different. While Ana cooks, her husband acts as waiter, giving customers the best possible service, as that is how they will attract more customers.

This loan will be used to buy rice, meat, fish and other supplies to prepare meals. Ana has been with the communal bank for three years and she likes it as it was with her first loan that she started this business which has allowed her to prosper.

Ana's goals are to continue moving forward and, above all, to maintain good health.
