A loan of $200 helped to buy organic fertilizer.

Margarita's story

Forty-three-year-old Margarita lives with her husband Máximo and their five children in their own rustic home, which they bought a few years ago. Margarita farms for a living, which is why she leaves very early to work in the fields she owns thanks to her hard work and dedication. This helps her increase her profits as she does not have to rent to plant. Her main crops are gladiolus flowers, peas, and other vegetables. She tells us that with every harvest she sells the vegetables at the local wholesale market, where she makes good profits. Now she wants to increase her earnings with good quality produce. This is her first loan with Kiva and she is very thankful for the financial support she has been offered. Margarita will invest the 500 soles in organic fertilizer to nourish her crops.
