A loan of $400 helped to buy organic fertilizer.

Yolanda's story

Yolanda, 38 years old, is a hardworking woman. She lives with her husband and children in the house that they bought a few years ago. Yolanda lives in a friendly, rural area that is a very good place for her to improve her business. For the last 20 years, Yolanda has made a living as a farmer, growing peas, corn, and potatoes. Corn is the crop that brings in the most money for Yolanda since it grows quickly and she has fixed customers who buy it. Now, Yolanda hopes to improve the quality of her crops and begin to grow her plants 100% organically because there is a big market for organic goods in many places all over the country. This is Yolanda's first loan with Kiva. She is very grateful for the support it offers her, so she pledges to be punctual with her repayments. Yolanda will invest the 1000 Peruvian soles in the purchase of organic fertilizer to nourish her plants.
