A loan of $5,450 helped to transfer his inventory to a bigger warehouse, pay a Certified Public Accountant, and to advertise his products.

Billy's story

Billy opened his business, Varsity Sportswear Inc., more than 15 years ago. He has been selling sportswear to a variety of local colleges, high schools and athletic teams, but his business had reached a plateau. He needed to make an investment to reach a new level.

The first step was to diversify his product line. Varsity Sportswear now offers school logo sportswear, as well as accessories, such as North Face duffel bags and backpacks, luggage sets, socks, mugs, hats, license plate holders and other items. The full inventory is available on the company’s website: www.vsportswear.com

To accommodate his increased inventory, Billy applied for an Accion Texas Inc. loan so he can transfer his inventory to a bigger warehouse and pay a Certified Public Accountant. Billy also plans to use the funds to advertise his product line.
