Salone Microfinance Trust (SMT) is very pleased to present to you this group of hardworking and dedicated primary school teachers who are based in Grafton, on the outskirts of Freetown, Sierra Leone’s capital city. Staff of various institutions normally come to SMT to request for loans in order to meet their most immediate financial needs. At the end of each month, they use their salaries to repay the loan. Their bursar is directly responsible for deducting their repayments and paying SMT/Kiva lenders on their behalf. Francis is the featured leader of this team. A native of Kailahun, Francis is married to a housewife and he has 9 children who are attending primary, secondary and tertiary academic institutions. Francis has been a school teacher for 35 years now. He has requested this loan in order to buy house building materials like iron corrugated sheets, sand, nails and cement, etc. for the construction of a dwelling house for his family.
