A loan of $600 helped to buy products, such as sugar and tinned fish, etc.

Dalila's story

Dalila is 58 years old. She is married and lives with her husband in her own home. Dalila has a grocery store which she has run for 20 years. She started selling carbonated drinks, and some snacks, but over time she has gained more experience and improved her business. Her husband has been at her side all the time. He gave her the initiative to set up a business as a way to have another source of income.

At the start, as with any business, sales did not go very well. But things improved and with the income that she makes from her daily sales she has been able to open another business right next to the premises where they sell beer.

This is her first loan with Kiva. She is very grateful for this funding and is committed to making her repayments on time.

She will use the money, S/.1500.00, to buy products for her business, such as sugar, tinned fish and vegetables, etc.
