A loan of $1,175 helped to purchase wholesale supplies like sacks of sugar and sacks of rice.

Juana's story

Juana was born in the central town of Gamitana but now lives in the city of Salvación (district and province of Manu, department of Madre de Dios). She is 33 years old and has three children with her common-law husband. She is a hardworking and enterprising mother who makes headway for her family by collecting butterflies and selling food. She runs a small grocery store out of her home selling different primary-need products like rice, sugar, noodles and other items. She has made a living with the business for a number of years and it is going very well thanks to the hard work she puts into it. Juana belongs to the "Tesoritos del Manu" community bank and is requesting the loan to purchase wholesale supplies like sacks of sugar and sacks of rice. She is grateful and values the loan, and she promises to make her payments on time.
