This is 37-year-old Vainah from Harare. She is a widow with two children, both attending school. She also takes care of her mother. Vainah buys and sells tackies and tennis shoes for adults and childre. She has been in operation for 14 years. She says the main challenges faced are stiff competition with other sellers and the weather. Vainah has requested a loan of $500 to buy tackies and tennis shoes for the winter. She says the extra income generated as a result of this loan will allow her to pay fees for her children and put the rest back into the business. In the future, Vainah plans to have her own footwear shop and have employees.
