A loan of $400 helped to buy ingredients for making juice.

Maichata's story

Maichata was born in Sanzana in August 1974 and lives with her two children and husband in a monogamous family in the Binko district of the town of Selingue. She is a teacher by trade but also has an interest in income-generating activities, notably the sale of ginger juice and milk. Having repaid her previous loans in full, Maichata is on her third loan with Soro Yiriwaso, which will be used to buy 150 kilos of ginger and five sacks of sugar from wholesalers. She sells for cash, on a retail basis, from home and in the market at Dalabala to a customer base made up of men and women.

Maichata hopes to make a monthly profit of 70,000FCFA, which will be used to help her husband provide for the family's needs, repay her loan and reinvest in her business.
