Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $800 helped to buy general food products.

Eya's story

Eya is a young woman aged 35. She is married to a welder and they have one child, who is two years old.

In order to help her husband with their household expenses, Eya sells general food products from home. She has been doing this for 13 years, and has customers from both sides of Lomé. As she can no longer meet customer demand due to a lack of supplies, she is requesting her first loan from WAGES in order to buy goods.

In the future, she hopes to be able to buy general food products and meet the needs of her family.
