A loan of $850 helped a member to buy clothes, incense and perfumes to expand her business.

Al-Mashar Group's story

Al-Mashar is a group of six women living in Taiz, Yemen. They were granted a loan of 180,000 YER by AMB. They aim to improve their businesses by using this loan.

Samah is a 33-year-old married woman and a mother of six children. She has operated a small business of selling clothes, incense and perfumes for many years. She found it difficult to accumulate a large amount of money to buy various kinds of clothes, incense and perfumes because most of the profit she makes goes to her family.

Therefore, she decided to apply for a loan of 30,000 YER to buy clothes, incense and perfumes to expand her business. This loan will improve her ability to attract more customers, which in turn will result in improving her income and helping her to go over the poverty line.
