A loan of $400 helped pay her daughter's higher education expenses.

Delia's story

Delia is 43 years old. She is married, and she lives in her own home with her husband and daughter. Delia has a radio broadcast that she runs with her husband. She has eight years experience with this work after her brother-in-law introduced her to it.

At first, she was only a worker, but as the years went by, she became the owner of the transmitter. Before she began the work she does now, Delia had economic difficulties, because she did not have work and it was very hard to find some. But with perseverance and care, she came out on top. Now, apart from running her radio station, she also runs a funeral home, which brings in extra income for her home and family.

She hopes to continue to grow as a worker and to make her small businesses grow so that she can bring better quality to her listeners. This is her first Kiva loan, and she is very excited and grateful for the economic support that it brings. With the S/.1000.00 loan, she will pay the higher education costs for her daughter.
