A loan of $200 helped to purchase some medication and have some medical exams done.

Alcides's story

Don Alcides is a 59-year old man, and the father of three children, two of whom are still in his care. He lives in the municipality of El Sauce, where he has lived all his life. He makes his living working as a gardener in a city institution. He has worked there for quite a few years.

Despite his age, Don Alcides feels very happy with his work. He feels that he can still give more to his trade, as it is what he likes to do best: take care of the plants and flowers.

Lately, Don Alcides has been feeling ill, but due to his low salary, he has not been able to get the medicine the doctor prescribe for him. And so he came to Ceprodel to request a loan so he can purchase the medications and have some medical exams done. He wants to get better and do more at work.

Don Alcides's household depends on his salary for their basic sustenance. That is why he does his work as well as possible.
He is grateful to the Kiva lenders and to Ceprodel for the help they have offered him during these years. They have helped his family, who are very poor, as are many in Nicaragua. They really need the helping hand of these good-hearted people.
