A loan of $3,525 helped a member to buy footwear.

Hormiguitas Obreras Group's story

The "Hormiguitas Obreras" communal bank is entering its first cycle with Pro Mujer as part of the Collpani regional hub. This group is made up of eight members and is run by a board of directors, of which Lourdes is the president. The members' businesses are varied and include the sale of beds, cosmetics, pants, clothing, footwear, sneakers, pots, and CDs.

This loan will benefit small business owners such as Lourdes. She says that this is the first time she has worked with Pro Mujer, which she joined by the invitation of a consultant who visited her at home. She currently has a business selling footwear, which she started years ago after observing the progress her friends had made.

This loan will allow her to increase her working capital by buying footwear from wholesale distributors in the city of El Alto. She will later sell the footwear from her place of business. This type of work allows her to generate resources to maintain her household as much as possible, as she is single with three children.

When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, she answers that she likes the loans and the health initiatives.

In this group: Lourdes , Justina, Sonia Beatriz, Claudina , Abigail Josefina, Trinidad, Nancy Rosario , Margarita
