A loan of $500 helped to buy cereals for resale.

Nianankoro's story

NIANANKORO, age 59, lives with his wife and their seven children in the sub-prefecture of OUELESSEBOUGOU, region of KOULIKORO.

NIANANKORO did not have the opportunity to go to school. He became involved in income-generating activities at a young age, namely the purchase, storage and sale of cereals. He learned this activity alongside a childhood friend.

To satisfy a growing customer base, he turned to the microfinance institution Soro Yiriwaso, and having correctly repaid three loans, he is now seeking a fourth individual loan to buy 2,5 tonnes of cereals (maize, millet, fonio) from local farmers in DONGORONA and the neighboring areas. He will store the grain for at least three months. He sells mainly wholesale to a clientele consisting of resellers from large cities such as Bamako and OUELESSEBOUGOU.

NIANANKORO hopes to earn an average monthly profit of 80,000 FCFA, which he will use to repay the loan. Any remainder will be reinvested in his business.
