Mr. SALIF is 53 years old and lives with his wife in the sub-prefecture of KANGARE, in Région de SIKASSO. Early on, Salif became interested in revenue-generating businesses, especially in the buying and selling of fruit & vegetables which he learned from his brother, who used to be a major producer and vendor of fruit & vegetables.

Concerned about satisfying his clearly growing customer base, he decided to collaborate with the microfinance institution Soro Yiriwaso. He is on his third individual loan, which will be used to purchase some fruit & vegetables from middlemen in KANGARE. Accepting cash or credit from a mixed customer base, he then resells the goods in bulk in BAMAKO.

Salif hopes to make an average monthly profit of 100,000 francs CFA that will be used to repay the loan. He will reinvest the rest in his business.
