A loan of $400 helped a member to buy fertilizer and to pay for plowing and weeding fees.

Hen's Group's story

A single woman, originally from Kampong Cham province, Hen is 28 years old. She strives to make a living via rice cultivation and cassava farming as the primary source of income. It is the business that she has been with for 13 years.

This is the first microloan for Hen with VisionFund Cambodia (Kiva’s partner). She leads a group of two to apply for a new loan. Her requested loan amount is KHR 1,000,000, while her joint borrower is applying for a loan of KHR 500,000.

As the group leader, Hen will spend her loan portion to buy fertilizer and to pay for plowing and weeding fees. She hopes to replant her cash-crop on time and to make a good income.
