Temukisa's story

Temukisa T., 40, is married with 2 children and lives in Safaaoa Uta, Samoa. She has been growing giant taro (taro taamu) and bananas for two years. She sells her crop to the villagers and the general public 2 days per week.

Temukisa has a previous loan with SPBD. She expects her weekly net cash flow to be 150 Tala (US$62). SPBD loans are Temukisa’s only access to capital because she has not been able to qualify for a loan with the traditional banks.
