A loan of $1,100 helped to put in a cement floor.

Monica's story

Mónica is married to Susano and they are originally from the city of Veracruz but have lived for over 20 years in the city of Nuevo Laredo. Two of their four children are married and only two daughters are still at home but working and helping out economically.

Mónica works for a security company in the cleaning area and her husband, Susano, receives a pension. They are requesting a KIVA loan to put in a cement floor in a room they are building for their daughters so they can have their own space and privacy at home.

With the salary she earns, Mónica will pay back the loan as her husband and daughters will cover the household expenses. She wants to improve her children's patrimony while also providing them with a safer place to live.
