A loan of $800 helped to buy handicraft items, cushions, baskets, coat hangers and pillows.

Ana Basilia's story

Ana has been selling wooden and plastic products and handicraft items in Chinandega market for 25 years. She is married and is the mother of five children, three of whom are of school age. Her husband helps her to make wooden products, such as wardrobes, multipurpose objects and china cabinets, in the small workshop which they have in their home. She, then, sells them at the market. Ana, with the help of her older children, also makes piñatas (traditional decorations) to sell on her stall. She works tremendously hard to support her children and give them good prospects for the future. She is seeking a loan to buy merchandise for her business and to continue making profits which she can use to improve the quality of her home life. She is very grateful to Ceprodel and Kiva for visiting her and she knows very well that it is thanks to their help that her business has developed considerably.
