A loan of $975 helped to buy two young cows.

Hasmik's story

Hasmik is 37 years old. She is married and lives with her husband, son and two daughters in Berkaber village, which is in the area of Ijevan. As Hasmik has said, to sustain big family in their village is very hard and they work hard day and night in order to meet their family's needs. Hasmik’s husband works for the village as a gardener and her son is a driver.

Hasmik is engaged in farming and animal breeding. On plot of land near their house, Hasmik grows tomatoes, cucumbers, potatoes and peppers, which she sells in the Ijevan markets. At the same time, she breeds cows and pigs in an animal barn which was built by her son and husband. With income from this agricultural business, Hasmik shares her family's monthly expenses with her husband and son.

Hasmik is asking a loan from Kiva lenders to buy two young cows and she hopes to receive a good profit from cattle breeding in the future.
