A loan of $225 helped to buy mushrooms for growing in her compound.

Ambo's story

Ambo is a widow with three children, and they live in a two-bedroom apartment house in the Bamenda Mezam Division of the Northwest Region of Cameroon. She has faced so many challenges in life, among which are sickness in her family, the death of family members (most especially her father, mother, brothers and husband, who were of great support to her financially, morally and materially) and inadequate capital to operate her business.

With this new loan she requested, she will invest in the growing of mushrooms in her compound. She is positive toward the success of this business because she has attended training where she was drilled on the preservation and production of mushrooms, and she has a good site. With this activity, the community will have mushrooms all year round for consumption, which will provide their bodies with calcium.

With the profit from this loan, she will save some for future expansion, pay for her children's education and provide her family with three square meals a day. She prefers GHAPE loans because of the low interest rates and convenient repayment intervals.
