A loan of $2,400 helped to buy hybrid seeds of agricultural products in order to improve the quality of his crops and increase his family’s income.

Willy's story

Willy has three children: a baby boy who is still breastfeeding and two children who are school-aged. He lives in his own house, which is cozy and has a bedroom, kitchen and bathroom. The room is made of adobe and the floor of earth. His house is located in the Coripata Municipality of Choro Grande, in the Nor Yungas Province in the La Paz Department.

Willy currently works growing vegetables, flowers and fruit. His wife also works on the cultivation and cleans the fields for new planting. They sell their products in the same area where they live and also in the city of La Paz. Their plot of land is full of soil and dust. Willy and his wife work together every day of the week to pay for household expenses, food, clothing and the education of their children.

They are requesting a loan to buy hybrid seed to improve their products and make them cleaner and more attractive for sale. Willy’s dream is to be able to refurbish his family’s home and to have his own vehicle so he could improve his family’s income and their quality of life. This is the first time that Willy has requested a loan through IMPRO and Kiva.
