A loan of $400 helped to improve his home.

Lizardo Francisco's story

Lizardo is a 33-year-old, single man who lives in the city of Pucallpa. He is very kind, hardworking, and enthusiastic person who dreams of excelling. Unfortunately, due to scarce financial resources, Lizardo had to begin working at a very young age and was not able to study Culinary Arts like he wanted to. However, thanks to his natural talent and the support of his mother, Lizardo learned to cook many different regional dishes from his city.

By his own intiative and with much determination and dedication, Lizardo works as a chef in a restaurant in the city. He also works as a taxi driver in the mornings before cooking. Lizardo works about 10 hours a day and believes that his success thus far is due to his skill in the kitchen and the kind way he treats others.

Lizardo is very grateful to Kiva lenders for the support this loan gives him. It will help him to do some repairs on his home. Lizardo will buy corrugated iron, wood, nails and will pay the wages of the workers doing the repairs. Lizardo hopes that the security from these repairs will protect his family's well-being.

He plans to continue working hard toward his dream of opening his own restaurant.
