Benturas Douglas's story

Bentura Douglas is 43 years old and married with three children. One child is still in school and so under his care. Bentura is originally from León is the west of the country. He is hard-working and responsible, and has a desire to move ahead in life. Unfortunately he was not able to study at university, due to a lack of financial resources, and was forced to work from a young age.

Thanks to his strong spirit and his desire to get ahead in life, Bentura makes a living by repairing electrical appliances such as television sets, fans, computers, radios and sound equipment. He runs the business out of a room in his home and works around ten hours per day. The loan will be invested in buying electrical parts such as cables, transistors, speakers, screens, screwdrivers, screws, tool boxes and soldering irons in order to offer better service. Bentura is grateful to Kiva lenders who are providing people of little resources and poor countries, such as Nicaragua, with the opportunity of having a decent job.
