A loan of $2,200 helped purchase a rake, which is part of the tractor that he uses to plant fodder for his milk cows.

Gerardo's story

Gerardo raises cows to produce milk, which he sells to one of the Industrial Milk Plants. He lives with one of his sons who has a family of his own in his own home located in the community of Sullcataca Baja, in the Laja sector in the province of Los Andes in the department of La Paz, which is one hour away from the city of La Paz. He needs the loan to purchase a piece of machinery (a rake) that is very much needed to improve his work with his tractor in planting fodder because the rake that he currently has is rusted and in bad shape, hurting the ground and reducing the amount of fodder that can be produced. Gerardo's dream is to increase the number of heads of cattle he has, as well as his milk production. This is the third time he has taken out a loan with IMPRO and the second time with Kiva.
